Know what your backup contains
Manga Mochi's manual backup copies supported local reader data such as bookmarks, recent reading, saved page progress and preferences. It does not include downloaded chapter image files. A successful restore can bring back your reading setup without making those chapters available offline on the new phone.
Before you change phones
- Open Manga Mochi on the old device and create a fresh manual backup from Profile.
- Save the copied backup text privately somewhere you control. It can reveal your local reading history.
- Keep the old device and backup copy until you have checked the restore on the new phone.

Restore and prepare offline chapters again
- Install Manga Mochi from Google Play on the new Android phone.
- Copy your private backup text to the clipboard and use Restore backup in Profile.
- Check Library, recent reading and page progress before deleting data on the old phone.
- While online, open each chapter that is still available from a supported source and download it again.
- Open the completed copy from Downloads, then briefly test it without a connection before relying on it during travel.
A bookmark or restored chapter position is not an offline file. Third-party sources can change or remove a chapter, so a previous download does not guarantee it can be downloaded again.
If a chapter will not download
Confirm that the chapter is available in the selected source, check your connection and free storage, then retry once. The download troubleshooting checklist covers the next checks. Plan storage on the new phone
Download a small set of chapters first and review its size in Downloads. Chapter sizes vary with image count and quality. Remove completed chapters you no longer need using the in-app controls described in the offline storage guide.
