Why use a local library?
A local library removes the sign-up step and keeps your reader state close to the device. In Manga Mochi, bookmarks, reading history, preferences, downloads and page progress are stored locally.
What you gain
- You can start without creating a username or password.
- Your reading list does not depend on a cloud profile.
- You choose when to make a manual copy of supported reader data.
What you give up
There is no automatic cross-device sync. Reinstalling the app, clearing its storage or losing the phone can remove local data if you did not make a backup. The app also cannot restore a chapter that a third-party source has removed.
Make a manual backup
- Open Profile in Manga Mochi.
- Choose the manual backup action.
- Store the copied backup somewhere you control.
- On the destination device, use Restore and review the result.

A backup may contain private reading preferences and history. Keep it in a place you trust and do not paste it into public chats or forms.
When an account-free reader fits
This setup works well when you mainly read on one Android device and prefer a small local library. If automatic multi-device sync is essential, an account-based service may fit that requirement better.
